CALVARY TRANSITION INFORMATION

 

The Transition Team's intent is to use open-mindedness, inclusion and transparency as guiding principles throughout this process. We will strive to communicate in a timely, clear manner.  As part of this commitment, the Transition Team will hold a third forum in the sanctuary between services in June 2007.  Watch for the specific date and monthly forums throughout the summer for further updates as the process continues.

In response to Keith's retirement announcement, the Church Council and Keith set up a transition plan. This plan included partnering with an outside consulting firm that specializes in organizational and leadership transition. The purpose of this plan is to help identify our congregation's strengths and opportunities in order to facilitate discovering a congregational direction, a pastoral "Calling", and a smooth transition for the next pastor. This process included identifying a Transition Team and two interview teams, which were identified by the Executive Church Council.  The two interview teams, the Future Finders and Listening Leaders, have completed their work and the responses from interviews and the information gathered have been combined into two final reports.  These reports, which identified certain themes and strengths, are being used by the Transition Team and the Visioning Team as we move forward. 

The Visioning Team will develop a vision for Calvary, which will provide guidance in the call process for a new senior pastor, along with guidance for the congregation as a whole.  There is a need and opportunities for involvement from many to be a part of several committees being formed, including but not limited to a "Call" committee.
