Grade 9- students meet with an adult mentor whom they have chosen, to share their faith with each other before affirming their faith on Confirmation Sunday.

"Service Hours"  are part of our confirmation program too.  These are volunteer hours that students perform.  We keep a record of these hours so when the students go to college or look for employment, we can give references for them.  Volunteers hours are very important when applying for college or a job.  The "Volunteer Service Hours" record sheets are available in the classrooms, on the desk in the hallway (upstairs), in the narthex, or ask Sandy or any other staff member.  Students may begin accumulating “service hours” in the 3rd grade.

Acolyte and Nursery Helpers:  As part of our confirmation program, students in 7,8,9 grades help in these areas.  A schedule is set up for them.

Babysitting: we have a list of students who like to do babysitting.  This list is kept in the Christian Education office so we can help young parents when they need to find a babysitter.

Vacation Bible School: for children K through grade 6.  Meets for one week …mornings in June.  Right after school is out for the summer.

Christmas Program:  Children in the primary Sunday School department (3 years old through grade 2) present this in December.

Mission Events:  Two or three Sunday events during the year.  We also have on-going Mission projects throughout the year.

Graduating Seniors Reception:  Usually held on Sunday, the week before graduation during the Sunday morning coffee hour.  Students are also recognized during the 10:00 worship service that day.

Day Camp:  For children who have just completed kindergarten through grade 3.  Luther Crest Bible Camp offers this at the Bible camp site.  This gives younger children a “taste” of Bible Camp.

Valelntine’s Day is this month.  It is a special day set aside to show that “extra special” love.  Our children need that “extra special” love from us.  They need to feel the love from us and from God, through us.

Blessings,
